Orville Rea Loving, 81, of Albemarle County, died Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born August 26, 1933, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Ruby Ryalls and Oscar Eugene Loving Jr. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Annette Loving Stevens; a brother, Eugene Keith Loving; and his second wife, Shirley Bailey Barnett Loving. He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Rae Loving of Charlottesville; two sons, Phillip Kevin Loving of Charlottesville and Stuart Glenn Loving of Faber; one granddaughter, Felicia Elaina Loving and her fiance, Gregory Morris, of Scottsville; niece, Karen Lynn Loving-Bourland of California, a nephew Gregory L. Stevens of Charlottesville, and brother-in-law, David L. Stevens of Bumpass; Virginia; stepson, William W. Barnett of Spotsylvania; step daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Barnett, and children, Jessica Kathryn and James of Palmyra; stepson, Gary Barnett and wife, Carolyn of Keswick, and daughter, Ashley, of Portsmouth, Virginia.

Rea was a lifelong resident of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. He graduated from Meriwether Lewis High School, completed one year of Business College from Jefferson School of Commerce. He retired after 47 years of service from Columbia Propane, Inc. Rea was Past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #389, Past President of the local Fraternal Order of Police Association Lodge and Past-President of the Virginia State Lodge of Fraternal Order of Police Associations, all of which he was a member of until his death.
