Bernard N. Maupin

Bernard N. Maupin, 82, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born on April 27, 1932, and was a lifelong resident of Charlottesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Newton Maupin and Ruth Reams Maupin, his sister Mildred Maupin; and a half-sister, Earline Maupin Anthony.

 
 

Bernard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Payne Maupin; his son, Jeffrey Eades Maupin and his wife, Heidi, of Maryland; and two grandsons, Steven C. Maupin and David B. Maupin of Maryland. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Carolyn P. Sprouse and her husband, Chris A. Sprouse, of Utah.

Bernard was a graduate of Lane High School, class of 1950.

Bernard was a 35 year employee of the Charlottesville Fire Department. He was a Fire Marshall for the City of Charlottesville and an Arson Investigator.

Bernard was a life-long member of the Elks (B.P.0.E> #389) of Charlottesville, Virginia.
