William M. Brown

   William M. Brown of Stanardsville, Va., passed away peacefully at Grace Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. He was born on September 22, 1937, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Harry and Effie Brown. He served in the U.S. army and retired as Lieutenant from the UVA Police Department with 28 years of service. He was a loveable guy who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved baseball and was an avid Pittsburg Pirates fan. He enjoyed spending time watching baseball and talking sports over a good cup of coffee at Burger King with friends Lester Conley, Billy Wright, and the late Jessie Harlow. To know him was to love him, and he loved nothing more than spending time with his "peeps", relaxing in his recliner, and petting his cat, "Kit Cat". He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Juanita Frazier Brown; his children, Dan Brown of Richmond, Kathy Brown Harlow and her husband, Mike of Palmyra, Ed Harlow and his wife, Elaine of Richmond, Darlene Brown Harlow and her husband, Bruce of New Canton, Va., and Robin Noford and her husband, Alan of Keswick, Va. He had 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and two nieces, Ruth Brown and Terry Kennedy, both of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Brown Highlander, wife of Walter Highlander of Ruckersville; and his sons, James Harlow husband of Debbie Harlow of South Boston, John Harlow husband of Mildred Harlow of Charlottesville, and Charles Brown husband of Gayle Brown of South Boston.
